Absys Records, nestled in the vibrant streets of Dublin, isn’t just a record label, shop, or DJ studio — it’s a testament to the city’s pulsating electronic music culture.

My journey with Absys Records began unexpectedly, over a pint at The Bernard Shaw. Drawn by the promise of discovery, I wandered downstairs to The Racket Space — a space that, on this particular day, hosted a record fare instead of its usual live music event. Little did I know, I was about to uncover a gem that resonates deeply with Dublin’s creative spirit.

Founded in 2008 by the visionary Pawel Sho, Absys Records quickly made its mark on Dublin’s music scene by pioneering live drum & bass gigs across the city. Championing deep, atmospheric sounds, the label gained early recognition through a series of free digital releases, spotlighting emerging talents and establishing a benchmark for artistic integrity.

Absys Records transcends digital boundaries by embracing vinyl, offering limited-edition releases that celebrate the vibrant music scene emanating from Dublin and beyond. Each vinyl record embodies the essence of their deep, atmospheric drum & bass sound, showcasing not only local talent but also artists from across Europe.

Despite its Dublin origins, Absys Records resonates on a global scale, attracting a diverse community of artists and fans who share a passion for its distinctive sound. It’s a testament to Dublin’s cosmopolitan allure — a city where creativity knows no boundaries, and music serves as a universal language.

Absys Records embodies a vibrant community ethos, where musical journeys converge, collaborations flourish, and artistic boundaries are pushed. Located at Unit 22, Charthouse Business Center on Richmond Road, their studio serves as a hub for live streaming performances and DJ rehearsals, fostering sonic experimentation and continuous exploration of new horizons in electronic music. Here, amidst Dublin’s cultural fabric, Absys Records invites you to uncover the city’s soulful rhythms and hidden melodies, offering a gateway to a rich tapestry of musical stories that resonate with every beat.

From open jam sessions where musicians bring their instruments to exploring eclectic collections at the record fare downstairs, it’s an afternoon celebrating music’s power to unite and inspire. Admission is free — a testament to Absys Records’ commitment to fostering community through music.

Whether you’re a Dublin local or a curious visitor, Absys Records beckons you to join their journey — a journey fueled by passion, curated with care, and resonating with the pulse of Dublin’s electronic music scene.
